Welcome to our Events page. Here you will find the list of activities scheduled for our kindred for the coming year. If you are interested in attending one of our events as a guest, please contact us. Information concerning workshops, reenactment activities, and fighter practice  are handed out during scheduled events. We ask that all members try to bring a "pot-luck" dish to the feasts. Water and mead donations are helpful at every event. Come and join us for Viking Folk fellowship...Hail the Gods! 

Birth Pledging for Legend Erik Burns - January 30th (Saturday) @ 12:00pm - Oath, Blot, & Sumble

At this event the parents of Legend Erik Burns will be pledging their oaths to the Gods to teach their child the ways of our ancestors. This will take place in Mesquite, TX. Ceremony will be led by Ulfhelm and Willow.

Feast of Vali - February 20th (Saturday) @ 3:00pm - Feast & Sumble

This feast originally celebrated the death of Hothr at the hands of Vali. This late winter festival relates to the triumphant return of the light of the sun over the dark days of winter. It is a time for exchange of gifts with loved ones, and a time for new marriages and vow renewals. This event will be held in Mesquite, TX. Ceremony will be led by Ulfhelm.

Feast of Ostara - March 14th (Sunday) @ 12:00pm - Feast, Blot, & Sumble

This is the Spring Equinox. The end of winter and the beginning of the season of rebirth. Today we honor Frigga, Freya, and Nerthus with blot and feast. Celebrate the rebirth of nature, Asatru, and the new hopes of our Folk. This event will be held in Venus, TX. Ceremony will be led by Halfdan.

Sigrblot/Yggdrassil Day - April 17th (Saturday) @ 3:00pm - Blot & Sumble

Today we celebrate the first day of summer in the old Icelandic calendar. In Iceland it had strong agricultural overtones, but elsewhere in the Nordic world, it was a time to sacrifice to Odin for victory in the summer voyages and battles. This event will be held in Mesquite, TX. Ceremony will be led by Ulfhelm.

Walpurgisnacht / May Day - May 1st (Saturday) @ 6:00pm - Blot & Sumble

Walberg is a goddess of our folk combining some of the traits of her better-known peers. Reflect this day on Freya, Hel, and Frigga as the repository of the glorious dead, and you will have an idea of Walberg's nature. May Day is a time of great celebration all across Europe, as the fields get greener and the flowers decorate the landscape with colors. Freya turns her kindly face to us. Celebrate the birth of Spring and the gifts of Freya. This event will be held in Venus, TX. Ceremony will be led by Halfdan.

Frigga Blot/Kindred Campout - May 22rd & 23th (Sat/Sun) - Blot & Sumble

We rejoice in the warmth and splendor of Spring. Honor the All-Mother and thank her for the health and vitality of the Family, Kindred and Tribe. We have two options on location for this event. We will camp at the Purtis Creek State Park in Eustace, TX., or on private property in Tawakani, TX. If you are interested in this event please stay in contact with us to be informed of updated information and details. Ceremonies during this event will be led by Halfdan and Ulfhelm.

Midsummers - June 20th (Sunday) @ 12:00pm - Feast, Blot, and Sumble

This is the longest day and the shortest night of the year. Now Sunna begins her long decline, sliding into the darkness which will culminate six months from now at Yule. Identifying the sun with the brightness of Baldur, we celebrate in honor of both. This event also holds very special meaning unique to our kindred. There will be a Handfast ceremony for Halfdan and his beautiful wife Saehild, and we celebrate the anniversary of Haldan's induction as a Gothi for the Viking Folk Kindred. This event will be held in Venus, TX. Ceremonies will be led by Halfdan and Ulfhelm.

Kindred Allthing - July 17th (Saturday) @ 12:00pm - Feast & Sumble

This month we hold our annual Thing. This is the time to discuss kindred politics. Members may present the board of directors with suggestions or bring forward any issues they are concerned with. This event will be held in Mesquite, TX. We will have a fellowship feast, then after the Allthing, a sumble. The Allthing will be led by the Board of Directors and sumble will be led by Ulfhelm.

Freyfaxi - August 21st (Saturday) @ 5:00pm - Feast, Blot, & Sumble

Freyfaxi marked the time of the harvest in ancient Iceland. Today the Asatru observe this date as a celebration of their harvest with Blot to Frey and a grand feast from the gardens and fields. This event will be held in Venus, TX. Ceremony will be led by Halfdan.

Winter Finding - September 25th (Saturday) @ 6:00pm - Feast, Blot, and Sumble

The Fall Equinox; Summer and Winter balance for a moment and the cold, old man wins - for now. Brace yourself for longer nights and the onset of winter. We blot to Odin the AllFather for inspiration to get through our lean times, whenever they may strike. This is traditional time for Fall Fest and the second harvest feast. This event will be held in Mesquite, TX. Ceremony will be led by Ulfhelm.

Winternights - October 16th (Saturday) @ 6:00pm - Blot & Sumble

Winternights celebrates the bounty of the harvest Freya and the fertility and protective spirits called the Disir, (often seen as our female ancestors), that she leads. This event will be held in Venus, TX. Ceremony will be led by Halfdan.

Feast of the Einherjer - November 13th (Saturday) @ 3:00pm - Feast & Sumble

The chosen heroes who sit in Odin's Hall are the Einherjer. Today we honor the dead kinsmen who gave their lives for family and folk. We pour libation in honor of those lost in battle. Warriors in the group engage in combat training. A grand sumble is held to honor the AllFather's great hall of the slain. This event will be held in Mesquite, TX. Ceremony will be led by Ulfhelm.

Yule Mothernight - December 18th (Saturday) @ 3:00pm - Feast, Blot, & Sumble

As the night before winter Solstice, this time begins the birth of the New Year. This is also the time to honor Thor and Frey with Blot, Sumble, and High Feast. We relight remnants from last year's Yule Log to begin a new fire. We jump the flames for luck and purification. This event will be held in Venus, TX. Ceremony will be led by Halfdan.

Yule Twelfthnight - January 1st (Saturday) @ 3:00pm - Oaths, Blot, and Sumble

This culminates the twelve days of Yule.Reflect on the past year. Take stock and lay a course for the future. Make new year's resolutions in the old fashion by swearing your oath on the kindred oathring or hammer. This event will be held in Mesquite, TX. Ceremony will be led by Ulfhelm.
